RESULTS OF SORTING
ARECA NUTS / BETELNUTS (SUPARI)
We supply various grades and cuts of organic Betelnuts, which are locally sourced in Thailand. The Thai Betelnut quality, fragrance, size and taste are unbeatable and world renown as one of the best and most desirable products in this agricultural product category. Our Thai sourced products form our premium quality. However, when customers need lower grades, we import these from other Asian countries to meet their requirement and costs.
GRADES / CUTS
The % refers to the quality of the product per 60kg bag. As this is an agricultural product, quality control is vigorous but requires a margin of acceptance. The grades and % refers to the margin of acceptance.
NOTE:
The quality assurance for Whole Betelnuts is lower when compared to Split Betelnuts. Quality assessment in this case is made based on the level of dryness and exterior beauty. The inside of the product is not visible. This results in lower assurance levels, as accepted industry wide (Whole Betelnuts are usually exported within Asia but we can supply to other regions if required).
Premium:
Thai Betelnuts, sorted and processes to deliver a premium grade product at 98% – 99% excellence. Near perfect, this handpicked premium product is primarily supplied to Europe and USA to meet their FDA standards.
– Large pieces only
Superior:
Thai Betelnuts, quality guaranteed at 94% – 97% excellence. This is also a high-grade product with beautiful and crisp Betelnuts. This quality is popular in the Middle East, Europe and USA
– Mixed Sizes (Big, Medium and Small)
– Minimum Skin, No Rotton pieces, No Dark Red Pieces, NO fungus or Dust
– No black colour at all
– All pieces are bright white, with flower in the middle
Grade A Plus:
Thai Betelnuts, quality guaranteed at 90% – 93% excellence. With marginal differences in grade, this quality is popular in the Middle East
Grade A & Grade A-:
Thai Betelnuts, quality guaranteed at 85% – 90% excellence. This quality is supplied to the Middle East and Asia
– Mixed Sizes (Big and Small)
– Some Dusty pieces (Dust in middle, now minimised by polishing means)
– No Fungus or Rotten Pieces
– Minimum Dark Red Pieces
– Some Skin on some pieces
Normal Split:
Thai / Asian Betelnuts, quality assurance at 80% – 84%. This quality is mainly for exports within Asia (Mixed qualities between the above and below)
Grade B:
Thai / Asian Betelnuts, quality assurance at 70% – 74% excellence. This quality is mainly for exports within Asia.

– Some rotten pieces
– Brownish in Colour
– Small Flower inside
– Some Dark Red & Black Pieces
– 25% of pieces have skin
Reject Quality (Lali):
These are poor quality pieces, rejected after processing. This quality is mainly for exports within Asia.
Betelnuts Grade C “Zero”
– Dark Red & Black pieces
– Rotten pieces
– Small Size and Broken Pieces
– No flower in the middle
– Fungus on it.
BETELNUTS (SUPARI) PACKAGING
Most products are packed in high quality gunni bags, each containing 60kg of Betelnuts. This packaging allows our products to breathe, preventing moisture and fungus forming.
